LUMA VPP
What is a virtual power plant?
A virtual power plant (VPP) is a network of solar and battery systems that are aggregated to create an energy resource that can input energy into the electrical grid when demand is high or there are or there are reliability issues. Homeowners that enroll their solar and battery system into a VPP are compensated for the energy that their system supplies to the grid.
What are the benefits of enrolling in LUMA's VPP program?
Earn compensation: Homeowners that enroll in the LUMA virtual power plant can earn up to $1 for every kilowatt hour (kWh) that their solar or battery system provides to the electrical grid
Contribute to Puerto Rico’s energy resiliency and security: Networks of distributed energy resources, such as residential solar and battery systems, can reduce volatility in the electrical grid and help it to respond to emergency situations.
Who can participate and how to enroll in LUMA's VPP program?
You must have a Solis High Voltage Hybrid inverter, model S6-EH1P93.8-11.4)K-US.
You must be enrolled in Luma’s Net Energy Metering Program.
